In a world awash in choral music product, why another music publisher?

Why August Press?

Notice, we didn’t say 'awash in great choral music product’, because frankly, most of it is..well..a waste of wood pulp, and the money/time/energy of choral organizations of all types and sizes.

We have a small (ca 70 titles and growing) catalogue of works that we know add value to the lives of both performers and listeners, created by accomplished musicians whose lives touch and transform those around them.

Unlike large firms in our market, we don’t have editorial committees staffed by ‘the marketing guys’ whose job it is to make sure nothing truly memorable ever sees the light of day.

If you think we’re being harsh…we’re not. We ’ve sat in those meetings, watched the cynical decisions as they were made. Those meetings continue, by the way, and the decisions show up as products.

If we publish it, we believe in it—choral music worthy of your investment of time and energy, created to enrich the lives of audiences and performers.
